Real Chinese food, made simple.

Hi everyone — Michael here! 👋

If you’ve ever watched one of my videos, you’ll know that my goal has always been simple: to make real Chinese cooking easy, fun, and accessible for everyone.

So I’m really excited to finally welcome you to my new website — a place where you can find all my recipes, videos, and cooking tips in one easy spot.

Why I started Chow With Lau

When I first began sharing videos, I didn’t expect so many people from around the world to tune in. It started with a few dishes I grew up eating — the kind of food my mum and dad would make at home — and it’s grown into an incredible community of home cooks all learning together.

Whether it’s Salt and Pepper Squid, Sweet and Sour Chicken, or Beef Ho Fun, my aim is to show you how simple good cooking can be once you understand the basics.

Food should never be intimidating — and I want you to feel confident enough to cook along, make mistakes, and still end up with something delicious.

What you’ll find here

This site is designed to make things easy for you to explore. You can browse recipes by category — like Chinese Favourites, Quick Meals, Vegetarian, and Sauces & Sides — or search for something specific.

Each recipe comes with step-by-step instructions, ingredient lists, and videos where I walk you through every stage. It’s like having me in the kitchen with you (minus the wok smoke!).

More than just recipes

Chow With Lau is about more than cooking — it’s about sharing culture, memories, and the little techniques that make Chinese food so special.

Over time, I’ll be adding more blogs here too — covering cooking tips, ingredient guides, and maybe even some behind-the-scenes stories from filming days and family recipes that haven’t made it onto YouTube yet.

Join the community

Cooking is always better when it’s shared. If you try one of my recipes, let me know how it turned out! You can comment, send me a message, or tag #ChowWithLau on social media — I love seeing your results.

And if you’re new here — welcome! Have a look around, grab your wok, and start exploring some of my favourite dishes.

Thanks for being part of this journey — I can’t wait to keep cooking with you all.
Michael
