Hi, I’m Michael Lau, welcome to Chow With Lau!
I started this channel because I wanted to make authentic Chinese cooking more approachable. Growing up, food was always at the heart of family life, and I learned early on that great dishes don’t need to be complicated, they just need to be cooked with care, a bit of confidence, and a good wok.
What began as a few recipe videos filmed in my kitchen has now grown into a community of home cooks from all over the world, all learning how to create restaurant-quality food right at home.
My cooking philosophy
For me, Chinese cooking is all about balance, flavour, colour, texture, and aroma all working together. I like to show that once you understand the basics, you can create almost anything.
Every video and recipe on this site is designed to be simple to follow, using ingredients you can find at your local supermarket. Whether you’re new to Asian cooking or just looking to refine your skills, I’ll guide you step by step through every technique.
